Transition to Ciena Optical Transport Network Complete

KanREN has completed the transition to our new Ciena Optical Transport Network (OTN). The new network increases the capacity of our existing fiber transport, allowing for bigger and faster connections across the state.

This is a big step in our planned commitment to maintain the KanREN network infrastructure in keeping with the best available and in step with peer research and education networks across the Great Plains.
